Principal partners Derek Lamb, Ronald Savage and Gerry Wood are seasoned entrepreneurs with decades of international experience as company CEO’s, private & public company directors and senior executives in mining, oil & gas, forestry, industrial manufacturing, automotive, mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity financings.
President & Founder
Derek was born in Scotland raised in Canada and resides in Ecuador. He began his professional business career on the trading floor of the Alberta Stock Exchange in Canada.
By the age of thirty he had started a private investment & communications firm and was a founding director of a publicly listed educational sports Software Company
Derek has worked internationally for the last 20 years where he has held senior and broad based executive roles throughout his career starting with Alberta Energy/ Verde Green in Ecuador where he was appointed as General Manager.
Responsible for 1,200 employees providing engineering, construction, labor, security and logistics to the oil and gas sector. The Verde Green operations were located in the high risk Tarapoa Block near the Columbian border After two years he divested this business on their behalf.
Derek was then recruited after a global search by Canadian industrial giant Alcan where he was selected as the Country Manager in Ecuador. Accountable for all of Alcan’s operations in Ecuador, including the world’s largest Balsa forestry company
After eight years in Ecuador, Derek was transferred by Alcan to Port Elizabeth, South Africa for the companys mega project the $1.2 billion Coega Aluminum smelter. During this transition phase Alcan was acquired by one of the most respected mining companies in the world Rio Tinto.
For the following two years he was selected as Rio Tinto’s Senior Manager of Regional Economic Development and Social Responsibility; accountable for the strategy, development, implementation and sustainability of the company’s regional economic development and corporate social responsibility projects and stakeholder engagement programs in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
Derek was then promoted from his South African assignment to the Rio Tinto headquarters in London, England and held the position of Global Manager, Business Resilience & Recovery. Responsible for the development and deployment of this risk based program in over 60 countries, covering 70,000 employees and billions in assets.
Derek then moved on as Senior Advisor, Business Development for Latin America & Canada for Baldwin M&A Partners, Seattle’s oldest private investment banking firm.
Derek was the founder and President of the Ecuadorian Canadian Business Association, and the founder and President of the Ecuadorian Canadian Business Chamber of Commerce in Quito.
He has attended numerous executive corporate management and professional training programs in Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador, Germany, South Africa and the USA.
Derek is a graduate of Alcans lean six sigma training program, attended the American Mangagement Association in NewYork with studies in Financial Management and International Business.
Ron was born and raised in Scotland and resides in Seattle, Washington.
With tenure at some of the world’s most successful Fortune 500 companies, including IBM, Goodyear, Paccar and General Electric, today, Ron enjoys global name recognition for his strong leadership and track record of re-building and growing manufacturing companies into profitable lean organizations.
As the founder and CEO of a U.S. based Aerospace Corporation, Ron led a Management Buyout from GE Aircraft Engines and successfully executed a Mergers and Acquisition strategy in an industry rollup of seven mid-market aerospace and defense companies.
Following the sale of his company, Ron spent 10 successful years in investment banking with membership in IMAP (International Mergers and Acquisition Partners) a global network of M&A industry professionals.
He is a founding member of GlobalScot, an international network of business professionals and industry leaders and currently sits on a number of industry boards and charitable organizations throughout the U.S.
Gerry was born and raised in Scotland and resides in the Alberta prairies south of Calgary, Alberta. Gerry was inducted into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame and appointed as Member of the Order of Canada in 2018.
Gerry is the founder and president of The Wood Automotive Group based in Calgary, Canada with over 550 employees and an annual turnover exceeding $500 million.
He participates and is highly active in the Calgary and Okotoks communities. Some of Gerry’s involvements entail organizations such as the Calgary Stampede Corporate Hospitality Committee, Canadian Down Syndrome Society, United Way, Tom Baker Cancer Society, Robbie Burns Club of Calgary, Mustard Seed and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Salvation Army.
Gerry has received numerous awards and global recognition for his philanthropy and continues to serve on multiple boards.
P. Geologist (QP)
Brodie is a mineral exploration geologist, based in Calgary, Canada with over 12 years experience in over eighteen countries. Focused on economic geology and the development of grass roots mineral exploration projects.
He has significant mineral exploration experience including: advanced geological mapping, reconnaissance and geochemical sampling, area selection and prospect generation and the implementation and management of diamond drilling programs.
Strong understanding of quality assurance & quality control procedures, best practices and geographical information systems in relation to grass roots exploration through to pre-feasibility. Experience with project review for acquisition.
Experience in advisory and board positions for publicly traded Canadian companies.
Brodie is a graduate of the University of Alberta, BSc, Geology and also obtained his environmental management certificate from the University of Calgary.
